Not Five Star Three at Best
The location is good and nice old building with park views and the high tea is fun but you don't need to stay to do this. In fact if you want a great high tea experience with class superior 5 star staff go to the Balmoral in Edinburgh it is a superior experience of service. The dining at Ritz has reasonable menu and superior food and high class ambience but that's it poor service attitude. Don't go to the cocktail lounge they don't know what they are mixing feign arrogance covering for lack of knowledge and it seems to be a not so high class place for regular hookers needing appropriate clothes and shoes handily loaned for the evening by Ritz staff.

Look out
Unless you want to wear a coat and tie 24/7 don't stay. At check in they will high pressure you to upgrade your room at a hefty charge when you are already paying top dollar. If you don't upgrade you will get a very tiny, worn room.

High Tea
I recently went to the Ritz for afternoon tea and was very impressed. The classy Palm Court is beautiful, if you want an excellent, albeit expensive, taste of one of England's greatest past-times, this is the place to go. Excellent food, probably the best tea I have ever had. Dress nice, sit back and have a wonderful afternoon at the Ritz-London!

Had dinner in the restaurant at xmas, staff were wonderful, service was discreet and friendly and the food brilliant. Would recommend for a special occasion or to impress. downside: expensive, but i guess you get what you pay for.

Nice, But Not The Best
I recently went to London on business and decided to stay here. The place was absolutly beautiful. The service was pretty good (some were a little up tight at times), but all in all, it was a nice place. The only problem I had was the price (which my company paid for) and what you actually get for the price. My room cost around $1200.00 a night, but the room itself wasn't very big at all.

Back stage pass
During the 90's I worked back of house at the Ritz. I have to tell anyone who wants to stay there, take afternoon tea, dinner in the Marie Antoinette Restaurant or attends a function there. It is probably the most Customer Service Concious organisation I have ever seen in action. From Luc Delafosse the General Manager down to the Hall porters, service really does mean SERVICE. Sadly the staff are not treated as well as the customers but that will change no doubt as time goes by. Enjoy your stay here and be sure that nothing is ever deliberatly done to make a guest stay less than perfect.

High Style
Come dressed to impress at this fixture in London. All the style and splash you would expect from a Ritz. Wonderful location close to all the sights, near tube station and top shoppoing at Bond St. Bring a fat wallet for it will cost a pretty pound. The rooms are richly detailed and every inch is covered in fabrics and gold. High Tea at the Ritz is hard to beat. The service and style of the hotel rival almost anything. Rooms are large by European standards. A little formal and stoggy but what do you expect at the RITZ.
