Kertész's work helped advance the avante garde movement that struck Paris and other countries in the 1920s. Strikingly geometric patterns have been applied in his famous and intriguing photographs of everyday life.
Midwest Photographer's Project

Beginning in 1982, the Midwest Photographer's Project is the museum's rotating display of a collection of portfolios by both prominent and emerging photographers from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, and Wisconsin. The exhibit represents almost 1,000 bodies of work or current projects from over 75 photographers from the Midwest, and span through a variety of manipulations of the medium.
