"The best of both worlds" is the phrase that best summarizes this classic Loop theater. It is opulent enough to appeal to the most discriminating of tastes, but refined enough to satisfy the most discerning theatergoer. It is too bad that recent years have not seen the stage shows to match. The biggest draw here a couple years ago was Donny Osmond in "Joseph". Since then, the Chicago Theater has fallen off in presenting new shows as more theaters start to crowd the new Theater District. However, concerts are frequent, and an occasional movie is shown here on its giant screen. The lower level of this theater has a 281 seat facility, where shows and concerts are held regularly.
