After reading (online) that Blue Boy was the best gay club in Nice, it wasn't difficult to decide where I wanted to go. What a mistake! The music... horrid. Could it be anymore unimaginative? The dance floor... "That was a dance floor????". But the absolute worst was the so-call 'spectacle' at 2am. To the 'star' of the show "Honey, just because you have a spotlight on you doesn't mean that you have talent"... (except for the talent of being able to seriously embarrass yourself in public). I think that purpose of the 'floor show' was to make you realize that things actually could be worse than the music or the dance floor. By far the worst gay club that I have ever been to. I wanted to rate it lower than a '1' but the scale wouldn't go any lower. How can a place as nice as Nice have such a bad gay club?
I went in the shoulder/off season (March) on a week night (almost empty) and a weekend night: it was pretty hard to move in there, but no lines... I can't imagine when all the visitors are packing the entire city! Good music, lots of people, and open til dawn make for a very enjoyable evening. The only downside would be the expensive mixed drinks, which seemed common in Nice. I just heard from a friend, about their "Foam Party" last night. He said, "it was CRAZY!"... I'm sure it was amazing!
