The Crowne Plaza is a modern hotel built in 1973, comprising 11 storeys. It is close to the city centre, just a few minutes walk from Broad Street - an area known for its nightlife - and also near to the International Convention Centre. It has always been regarded as one of the city's smarter hotels and is set back slightly from the main road with a spacious paved area in front of it. The adjacent Alpha Tower, one of Birmingham's tallest buildings, makes a good landmark.
