Enryakuji Temple on Mt Hiei is the principal seat of the Tendai School of Buddhism, and was founded by the great Buddhist monk, Dengyo Daishi Saicho. The temple is divided into three areas: the Todo (Eastern Pagoda), Saito (Western Pagoda) and Yokawa.
