Hoa Lu: Ancient Capital of Vietnam Private Day Tour from Hanoi

start date: 2008-10-03
end date: 2008-10-29

Hoa Lu was the capital city of Vietnam under the Dinh Dynasty between 968 and 980 AD and ancient sanctuaries and tombs can still be seen today. Apart from the historical importance, the area is naturally beautiful, referred to many as the 'dry Halong Bay', with limestone peaks and fertile green valleys.

The tour includes being rowed along the Boi River, which makes for a truly unforgettable experience, passing between towering limestone peaks. We leave Hanoi and head south for a 2-hour drive. We spend one hour visiting the Dinh and Le sanctuaries and then move on to Tam Coc for a boat trip along the Boi River. Along the way we visit caves and ancient temples.

By choosing this tour you are supporting a local tour operator who is constantly seeking new ways to bring travelers closer to local cultures. This style of travel offers an alternative to mass market tourism which takes into account local cultural values and economic growth. All tours are low impact on natural resources; are respectful and observant of local customs and traditions, and are supportive of local economies. Conde Naste agrees. In 2007 they awarded the operator of this tour as the Winner of their Best Operator category in the Conde Nast World Saver Awards.
