Vancouver Rainforest, Local Neighborhood and Suspension Bridge Tour

start date: 2009-10-20
end date: 2009-12-28

This small group tour starts at Lonsdale Quay in North Vancouver, most easily accessible by the SeaBus from Vancouver. The SeaBus ride provides excellent, breathtaking views of the city of Vancouver and its waterfront. Upon disembarking the SeaBus, you'll be picked up in an environmentally friendly vehicle (the only tour in Vancouver running ecologically friendly vehicles on Veggie Oil!) and enjoy a scenic drive through local neighborhoods which reflect the multi-cultural nature of Vancouver.

Head to the local bird sanctuary at Maplewood Flats conservation area, where many migratory birds and other animals take refuge. Depending on your specific interests, the tour also includes Cates Park, home of handcrafted totem poles and a native war canoe, as well as Deep Cove, a quaint town beautifully situated between Mount Seymour and the Burrard Inlet.

Put on your walking shoes for an easy hike on the Baden Powell Trail in Mount Seymour Provincial Park. The tour also includes a stop at the Lynn Canyon Park, where you can cross a suspension bridge 20 stories above Lynn Creek and the valley floor. You'll also receive the opportunity to explore the ecology center and learn more about British Columbia's lush rain forest. The tour is low-key to give you all the time you need to enjoy the unique beauty of the province.

After the tour is over, you'll be dropped off at a public market where you'll have time to browse for gifts and souvenirs, before hopping on the SeaBus and enjoying stunning views of Vancouver's skyline!
